Rohini “Rosie” Bhola sadly departed her loving family on the morning of Wednesday, July 26th, 2023.
Rosie was born in Brighton Village, Guyana, South America to her mother Mohini Jones on Sunday, September 26, 1976. She came to Baltimore, MD from Guyana at the age of 6 in 1982. She was raised by a loving family, consisting of many role models including her later grandmother (Dhanmattie Bhola, deceased in 2020), her late grandfather (Jacob Bhola, deceased in 2012), and all of her aunts. Rosie had an exceptional mother who never gave up on her despite the many obstacles that came in Rosie’s way. Mohini and Ernest “Ernie” Jones, Rosie’s late step-father, (deceased in 2009) married in 1984. Together, they collectively raised Rosie from age 8 into her adulthood. Ernie and Rosie had such a loving father-daughter relationship that it was like he birthed her. Rosie had 2 sons, Reuben Wilhelm in 1996 and Antonio White in 2002.
Rosie was a college graduate. She was an accountant and had worked many jobs throughout her life. Her most recent position was her short tenure working for the State of Maryland at the Social Security Administration prior to falling ill.
Some of Rosie’s hobbies included her love of traveling and eating seafood. She especially enjoyed eating Maryland crabs and crab cakes. Much of her bucket list remains incomplete with her life cut short. Rosie always had a smile on her face every time she approached anyone. She was so full of life, and she never had a care in the world that stopped her from living life to the fullest.
“I believe my mother was more than resilient, she was capable of overcoming every obstacle with tenacity unlike anything I’ve ever seen. She is a good example of making something out of nothing, and I’ll never forget her for it.” -Rueben Wilhelm
“My mom was her own person, her own character, and there are too many words that I could possibly use to describe her. She was the strongest mother, and the most caring woman I ever wanted. When I was around my mom as the baby of course I was spoiled, and I know she never stopped loving me.”
-Antonio White
She is survived by her two sons, Rueben Wilhelm and Antonio White, and her mother Mohini Jones. She will be missed by many friends and family in the Essex community.
A funeral service will be held at the Evans Funeral Chapel, 8800 Harford Road on Friday at 11am. Visiting hours on Friday 10am-1pm. Interment private.
