With profound sorrow, we announce the unexpected passing of Kathy McCollam, who passed away on October 26, 2024. She was reunited with her husband, Jack, her cherished mother, Regina, and her grandson Kenneth Joe VanHoy III, who preceded her in death several years ago. Kathy was a devoted mother to Chris Schenning and Lisa VanHoy, a proud grandmother and great grandmother to Ashley VanHoy, Amanda VanHoy, Brandon VanHoy, Eric VanHoy, Ethan Kozel, Riley Schenning, and Luci Cortez.
She filled every room with kindness and love, sharing handmade crafts that she lovingly created and gifted to those around her. She never missed a birthday. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, like a warm hug or surprise flowers. She was a true giver, always willing to help and share with others. She loved books, cats, country music, soap operas, musicals and movies.
A breast cancer survivor, Kathy was deeply loved by her nurses, who admired her strength and kindness. Her gentle, caring spirit touched the hearts of her family, friends, and anyone that was fortunate to know her. Though she is no longer with us, her love and memory will live forever in our hearts. We’ll look for her among the butterflies.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
