Karen Baxter (nee Markley), of Middle River, passed away on February 17, 2026, at the age of 61. Karen was born on December 14, 1964, and lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and laughter. She was known for her big heart and her unwavering willingness to give of herself to others. Her charitable spirit was especially evident in the way she looked out for children, always wanting to make sure they felt safe, supported, and cared for. Whether through a thoughtful gesture, a helping hand, or her warm sense of humor, Karen made those around her feel valued and loved. She had a natural ability to bring light into any room and will be remembered for the joy she shared so freely.
Professionally, Karen worked as an IT Systems Analyst, where her dedication, intelligence, and problem-solving skills earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike. She took pride in her work and in the relationships she built throughout her career.
Karen is survived by her loving family, who will forever cherish her memory, as well as many dear friends who were fortunate to know her and call her their friend. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, generosity, and love that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
A celebration of Karen’s life will be held at a later date, where friends and family are invited to gather and share their favorite memories together.
