On September the 3rd 2024, Judith Ann Smith passed away peacefully surrounded by people who loved her dearly. Born in 1958 Judy as she was known was a strong independent woman who forged her path through life not allowing anyone to tell her what she should be doing. She prided the fact that she worked for many years in one of the most heavily male dominated occupations, corrections. Not only did she work in some of the most dangerous all male prisons in the state of Maryland, but she excelled, achieving the rank of sergeant and retiring early due to a disability. Judy was the beloved daughter to the late Vivian, sister to the late Angela and Linnea. She is survived by the love of her life James, her brothers Donald and Michael, her sons Eric and Brandon, her daughters Deena and Rose and her grandson Brandon as well as a large extended family who loved her.
Services private.
