Obituary
John Anthony Kidwell, Sr., 81, of Westminster, MD passed away on April 6, 2023 at the BridgingLife Hospice Care in Westminster, MD. Born September 22, 1941 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Leroy and Jean (Sergi) Kidwell and husband of the late Dorothy K. Kidwell.
Surviving are his daughter, Jacquelyn Kidwell Frock and husband James; son John A. Kidwell, Jr. and wife Tina; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and brother of Eugene A. Kidwell and Roch A. DeFrances.
John was born and raised in Little Italy and graduated class of 1959 from Calvert Hall. He retired from The Baltimore Sun after 28 years. John enjoyed spending his free time volunteering at St. Leo’s Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Little Italy Lodge #2286.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 12, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 227 E. Exeter Street at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions may be directed to BridgingLife Hospice or Calvert Hall College High School.
