Don had a heart of gold and a smile to match. Over his 92 years, he lived a long, full, and meaningful life. While 92 years is a remarkable blessing, it still does not feel like enough time with someone so deeply loved.
Don was a man of great wisdom, resilience, and strength. He possessed a constitution that seemed built for another era and was a survivor in every sense of the word. Above all else, his greatest purpose was caring for his family. Everything he did was rooted in love, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion to those he cherished.
“The righteous man walks in his integrity; blessed are his children after him.” — Proverbs 20:7
No verse could describe him more perfectly. His integrity, character, and steadfast commitment to his family shaped the lives of all who knew and loved him. The values he lived by will continue to guide his family.
One thing that never changed was that Don lived life on his own terms. Independent, determined, and strong-willed, he remained true to himself until the very end. He faced life’s challenges with grit, dignity, and quiet strength, never losing the spirit that defined him.
Anyone who met Don remembered him. He had a remarkable way of making an impression, leaving others better for having known him. His kindness, wisdom, and presence will be deeply missed.
Don fought the good fight, finished the race, and leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and perseverance. We are profoundly grateful, not only for the wonderful life he gave us, but for the example he set and the values he leaves with us forever.
