With profound sorrow and deep love, we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Darryl Scott Kelly, who left this world in the early hours of May 25, 2025. Scott was so much more than the roles he held—he was a pillar of strength in his family, a devoted husband, a loving father and “Poppy,” and a fiercely loyal friend. His unwavering commitment and generosity touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
From the very beginning, Scott embodied the values of hard work and steadfast dedication. He was a true example of what it means to live with integrity and purpose. His love for his wife, Christine Kelly, was a constant source of strength—he stood by her side, believing in her, encouraging her, and cherishing every moment they shared. As a father, Scott was a steady rock for his daughters, Hollie Kelly-Carroll and Jessica Jenkins, teaching them not only the importance of family, but also the power of determination, loyalty, and resilience. These gifts will live on through his beloved grandchildren, Jaxton Carroll, Paetyn Carroll, and Jack Jenkins—who brought him a large sense of joy and pride.
Scott’s love extended to his brothers, John Kelly, Shane Kelly, and William Thompson. The laughter, memories, and bonds they shared will forever be treasured. To his friends and all who crossed his path, Scott was a beacon of loyalty, always ready to offer a helping hand and a listening ear. His convictions were strong, but his heart was even stronger.
Those who truly knew Scott will fondly remember his favorite staples throughout life: his ever-present cowboy boots, signature belt buckle, cowboy hat, a pack of cigarettes in his pocket, and a hot cup of Royal Farms coffee in hand. These simple, familiar comforts were as much a part of him as his smile and laughter.
As we remember Scott, we celebrate a life filled with deep love, sincere kindness, and moments of laughter that will echo in our hearts. His legacy of devotion, and strength will continue to inspire everyone whose lives he touched.
Honoring Scott’s wishes, there will be no formal services. In place of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to a charity of your choice in Scott’s name—a fitting tribute to his giving spirit.
Darryl Scott Kelly will be deeply missed, but his love and light will remain with us always. (10/04/1962 - 05/25/2025)
