Candace Maria Greever

Candace Maria Greever passed peacefully on June 3, 2026, at 5:55 p.m. in Winchester, VA, held in the arms of her lifelong best friend and soul sister, Shan Pscherer, and surrounded by those who loved her most—her partner, Basil Carter; her sister, Becky Sullivan; her dear friend, Stephanie Marcum; and her biological mother, Georgia Mohr.

A 1990 graduate of EVT, where she earned her LPN, Candy devoted her life to the care of others. Nursing was never just a profession to her; it was who she was at her very core. With quiet strength and a deeply compassionate heart, she cared for her patients, friends, family, and beloved fur babies with unwavering kindness, dignity, and love. Candy was known for her radiant smile, contagious laughter, gorgeous red hair, and gentle, nurturing spirit. She had a rare and beautiful gift for making people feel seen, valued, and deeply loved. Her presence brought comfort, and her authenticity made people feel safe simply being themselves.

She deeply loved her fur babies, as well as her fur nieces and nephews, each one held close in her heart.

Affectionately known as Aunt Candy, she held an irreplaceable place in the lives of her five godsons. She loved them with her whole heart, celebrated every milestone, and took immense joy in watching them grow through every stage of life—especially her beloved dancer, Ben. She was their constant cheerleader, their safe place, and their steady source of unconditional love. Her spirit will continue to live on in each of them, and they find comfort in knowing she now watches over them as their guardian angel.

Candy’s love was pure and unconditional. She gave of herself freely, always placing others before her own needs, and in doing so, she touched countless lives in ways that can never be fully measured. Her legacy is one of compassion, loyalty, selflessness, and deep, abiding love.

To know Candy was to be loved by her—and that love has left an imprint on every heart she touched. Though her absence leaves an unimaginable void, her love remains, and it will continue to guide and comfort those who were blessed to know her. Because we knew her, we have been changed FOR GOOD.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local cat rescue in her memory.
